Making Gender-Inclusive Practices Actionable: Evaluating a Research-Informed Computing Education Toolkit

A global concern regarding persistent gender imbalance in computing highlights the importance of universities in addressing this issue. While research identifies supportive practices for under-represented student groups, translating this evidence into actionable guidance for educators has been challenging. A new web-based toolkit, TechMate, has been developed to bridge this gap by providing research-informed, gender-inclusive practices for computing educators. This toolkit includes over 25 operational to strategic actions, supported by case studies and implementation resources, and its initial usefulness has been positively evaluated by educators.
