Strength of character and universal values are essential for the effectiveness of entrepreneurial students’ intention

A recent study conducted among business management students in East Indonesia empirically investigated the role of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial intention. It found that character strengths and virtues, alongside competencies, are essential in shaping students' entrepreneurial aspirations within higher education settings. The research used a structural equation model to analyze data from 397 students, highlighting the importance of six specific character traits.

This research highlights the critical role of character development, alongside traditional skill acquisition, in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets. Institutions and policymakers should recognize that a holistic approach to education, encompassing both technical competencies and ethical/personal attributes, is vital for cultivating future innovators and leaders. This can inform strategies for developing robust educational programs that prepare individuals not just for employment, but for creating new ventures and contributing to economic growth.
